SPOKANE, Wash. — A jury convicted Zachary L. Holt, 24, and Dezmonique D. Tenzsley, 35, on all 17 charges, including felony murder, attempted murder of a federal officer, and firearm offenses, following a violent crime spree that spanned Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington in 2022.
According to U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Washington, the pair committed multiple robberies and assaults, culminating in the brutal murder of Gale and Jeremy Neal in Keller, Washington, on October 21, 2022.
Afterward, they shot at law enforcement officers during a high-speed chase. The investigation revealed a series of crimes, including home invasions and shootings on Native American reservations.
Holt and Tenzsley will be sentenced on February 6, 2025
U.S. Attorney Vanessa Waldref emphasized the commitment to justice for victims, especially in the context of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis.
The case was a collaborative effort by various law enforcement agencies.
