SPOKANE, Wash.– It’s early November, but you wouldn’t know it looking at the mountains around the Inland Northwest. The storms over the past week dumped a serious amount of snow above 4,000 feet elevation, multiple feet of it in some cases.
Lookout Pass reported 14 to 36 inches of snow from the recent weather, and they plan to open for the first time this season Friday. For now, Lookout says they’ll be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays with reduced ticket prices and limited areas open for skiing and riding. Check out their latest snow report here.
Schweitzer reported two feet of snow in the past week, but there’s no word yet on an opening date. Snowpack region-wide is off to a fantastic start, similar to what we saw in winter 2022-2023. Regardless of the schedules for each ski area, signs point to good conditions whenever things open near you.
The forecast is leaning towards cool and wet with another storm this weekend and the potential for more mountain snow next week. La Niña is still expected for this winter as well, which increases the odds for more snow events both in the mountains and valleys.
