SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Police and bomb squad units showed up to the Spokane Valley Heritage Museum Wednesday after World War I 37mm shells were donated by a local man.
The museum executive director told 4 News Now it called emergency responders out of an abundance of caution to investigate the ammunition’s safety.
Spokane Valley Police bomb squad and the Fairchild Air Force Base showed up just after 11:30 a.m. to help.
One of the two donated shells was determined to be safe and will stay in the museum.
