SPOKANE, Wash. — Thousands of students from the Inland Northwest got to witness a magical performance by the Spokane Symphony Orchestra Thursday.
Six thousand fourth and fifth grade students from over 80 schools in the Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and Moscow regions attended the free Symphony Day.
The students got an introduction to orchestra instruments as well as a concert put on by the Spokane Symphony Orchestra which even featured music from the Harry Potter franchise.
“It was good, amazing, best show ever,” said students who were interviewed after the show.
Symphony Day first began more than 30 years ago. The educational and interactive day creates opportunities for students to find out which kinds of instruments they could try out when they get to middle school.
