SPOKANE, WA — As this week’s temperature drop prompts many to adjust their thermostats, SNAP is reminding residents that heating costs can add up. In response, the organization is distributing 600 energy-saving kits to help families prepare for winter.
On Thursday, residents can take advantage of a drive-thru resource fair to collect their kits without leaving their vehicles. The event will be held at the Catalyst Building, located at 601 East Riverside Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last.
Each energy-saving kit includes essential items such as energy-efficient light bulbs, weather stripping, cloth draft stoppers, and more—tools designed to help families reduce energy consumption as colder weather sets in.
In addition to the kits, attendees will receive valuable information on further energy-saving tips and resources. SNAP encourages all Spokane residents to participate in this initiative to enhance home comfort and efficiency this winter.
