BOISE, Idaho — Bryan Kohberger’s defense team hired a defense witness who worked on the OJ Simpson murder trial to participate in the University of Idaho murder trial.
Court documents show Barbara C. Wolf, M.D., will be allowed to participate remotely at the November 7 court date as the defense witness “if permitted by the Court to provide testimony.” State prosecutors said in the documents that “this witness should not be allowed to testify at the November 7, 2024 hearing.”
Wolf is currently a district medical examiner based in Florida. She also worked on the team of medical experts part of the 1994 OJ Simpson murder trial case.
Kohberger is accused of killing Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle in November 2022.
If convicted, Kohberger faces the death penalty. Kohberger’s defense is challenging his eligibility for the death penalty.
While the next trial hearing is scheduled for November 7, the criminal trial for the University of Idaho murders is currently set to begin on August 11, 2025 in Ada County.
