COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A local good boy and firefighter are heading to the East Coast to help people impacted by Hurricane Helene and the upcoming Hurricane Milton.
K9 Scout and firefighter Matchell of the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department were dispatched on Sunday to assist with recovery efforts.
K9 Scout is part of the Idaho Disaster Dogs Search and Rescue.
Just a week after Hurricane Helene devasted the southeast, Hurrican Milton is set to make landfall this week as a Category 5.
