DANVILLE, Wash. — Fire officials said the Goosmus Fire burning near the United States and Canada border in Ferry County is now 100% contained.
The fire has been burning since September 25 and has burned over 1,700 acres.
Big Goosmus Road and Fourth of July Road are still closed to the public. Access is available for local residents only.
Smoke will still be visible for at least several weeks inside the fire perimeter, but the fire is not likely to spread past the containment line.
Incident Management said the fire was initially caused by a powerline.
