SPOKANE, Wash. — Planned Parenthood of Greater Washington and North Idaho is expanding an initiative that offers STI testing at no charge.
Planned Parenthood had offered free testing through September but announced that’s been expanded through December. The goal is to help make sexual health care more accessible to people.
According to Planned Parenthood, Washington reported over 40,000 cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis in 2022 which has doubled since 2019. Planned Parenthood says one in four college students has an STI while more than half have never been tested.
People can make an appointment at one of the 11 Planned Parenthood locations in central and eastern Washington at PlannedParenthood.org.
