CHENEY, Wash. — Two students at Eastern Washington University reported to police they believe they were given laced drinks at parties over the weekend.
EWU Police says both victims reported symptoms consistent with ingesting substances such as “roofies” or other drugs.

EWU Police is offering suggestions to help reduce the likelihood of falling victim:
Don’t put your drink down even for a few minutes.Don’t accept an open drink from anyone and make sure you watch the bartender make it.Avoid punch bowls as you may not know what’s in them.Make a pact with friends to look out for each other and spread awarenessIf you believe you’ve ingested a “date rape drug”, go to the emergency room immediately and ask for a urine screen test. EWU says traces of the drug may remain and help in any investigation.
