SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters with Spokane County Fire District 3 got a brush fire near Cheney under control Monday.
The fire broke out before noon on S. Short Road south of Washington Road about 20 minutes south of Spokane.
Firefighters said the fire is burning field grass and timber but forward progress was stopped around 12:30 p.m.
