FERRY COUNTY, Wash. — Evacuations were still in place for a wildfire burning in the Danville area on Thursday night, according to Ferry County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. on September 25 in Danville, Washington, about a two-and-a-half hour drive north of Spokane near the Canadian border.
As of 9:45 p.m. on September 26, the fire is estimated to be burning on about 1,700 acres and is 0% contained.
Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations were issued for residence along 4th of July Creek Road.
Level 2 (Get Set) evacuations were issued for the town of Danville and the area north of Big Goosmus Road, along Highway 21 to the Canadian border.
250 fire personnel from Ferry-Okanogan Fire Protection District 14, DNR and BC Wildfire Services are working on the ground and by air to control the flames.
