POST FALLS, Idaho — A Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and killed two dogs that bit him while at a home in Post Falls Wednesday morning.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was delivering court paperwork to a home on Monarch Avenue around 8 a.m.
When the homeowner opened the door, the two dogs charged the deputy and one bit him on the leg. The deputy shot the dog that bit him.
KCSO said the other dog then tried to attack the deputy and the deputy shot that one as well.
Both dogs died from their injuries.
The deputy was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for the dog bite.
The dog owner was not charged with any crimes related to this incident.
