LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — We are one step closer to welcoming a TopGolf location to the Inland Northwest.
The City of Liberty Lake confirmed that an 11-acre empty field along I-90 and near Kramer Road and Country Vista Drive has been sold to TopGolf USA. The land was bought for $4 million.
The city says the building permit is expected to get approved in the next two weeks. Once that happens, crews will be able to go to the empty site and begin work on the major project.
“Get ready, because probably within the next year you’ll have a new destination and attraction in Liberty Lake,” said city administrator Mark McAvoy.
After talks about the course coming to the region for the past two years, the deal between TopGolf commercial real estate firm Kiemle Hagood closed on Wednesday.
“We’re pretty much equal distance between Coeur d’Alene and Spokane, and we’ve got large metro areas on both sides,” McAvoy said. “I think the strategy that TopGolf is looking at is to place themselves in the center of all of that and draw people from all over.”
There is no specific date for when the project is expected to be completed, but the city says once crews get to work, it should be here before we know it.
