SPOKANE, Wash โ Travelers coming to the Spokane International Airport need to prepare for changes, as the next phase of terminal improvements gets underway.
Starting Wednesday, drivers and pedestrians wonโt be able to access a portion of the curbside area of the main terminal.
Vehicle traffic will be routed through a new two-lane bypass road, which will be in place until 2030.
Drivers can follow the signs for drop-off and pick-up areas. Travelers who park in the parking garages will need to use the skybridges to get to the terminal.
Crews will also start work on a temporary baggage facility in the Concourse C plaza, which will lead to congestion in the curbside area of that concourse.
Starting in March, the Concourse C baggage claim area will be torn down, forcing American, Allegiant and Alaska Airlines passengers to use that interim baggage claim facility.
That change will be in place until 2030.
Airport officials recommend travelers arrive early to navigate the changes. They also recommend using the short-term parking lot for visits lasting less than two hours.
They also encourage people picking up passengers to use the cell phone lot while they wait.
