SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga guards Xaivian Lee and Ines Bettencourt remain eligible for the 2026-27 college basketball season after the Santa Clara County Superior Court granted an injunction in the Glancey v. NCAA case, per Jon Rothstein.
The ruling provides covered members of the Class of 2022 eligibility through the end of the 2026-27 season. The NCAA plans to appeal.
Lee gives Gonzaga’s men a veteran option at point guard. The fifth-year transfer began his career at Princeton, where he earned consecutive consensus All-Ivy League first-team selections, before transferring to Florida. He brings proven playmaking and strong perimeter defense to Mark Few’s backcourt.
Bettencourt’s eligibility is also a major development for Lisa Fortier’s women’s program. The 5-foot-9 guard spent her first two college seasons at UConn before playing for Gonzaga in 2024-25 and 2025-26. Last season, Bettencourt averaged 6.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals in 33 starts.
The court’s injunction is not necessarily the final outcome of the broader eligibility lawsuit. Still, it is significant news for both Gonzaga programs as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
The NCAA is expected to appeal the ruling.
