CHENEY, Wash. — The Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs visited eastern Washington on Monday for a few reasons.
He toured his department’s new corporations and charities office on the EWU campus. It opened this year and can assist with business registration, filings and other official matters.
Hobbs says he also met with Spokane County Auditor Vicky Dalton about next month’s election.
“I’m out here urging Washingtonians to put their ballot in a drop box,” Secretary Hobbs said. “If you insist on putting it in a mailbox then my advice to you is to mail early.”
Hobbs says the state saw a large increase of rejected ballots because they weren’t postmarked in time due to postal service processing delays.
Ballots will go out in Spokane County on the 14th.
