SPOKANE, Wash. — Students in the Spokane Public Schools system are all set to start the school year on time this month.
According to the school district, staff at every school in the district, including those that were under evacuation orders for the Spokane Complex Fire, will be allowed to return on Monday, August 17, to prepare for the new school year.
Inspectors tested air quality and other safety measures at Flett Middle School, Indian Trail Elementary, and Woodridge Elementary. The school district said the air quality at these sites was good and there was no indication of unusual ash or soot inside or outside the buildings.
All HVAC filters at the schools are being replaced and custodial teams will continue with precautionary cleaning measures.
All families in the district can expect to begin school on August 26. You can learn more about preparing for the new school year by clicking here.
