SAN FRANCISCO – Graham Ike had a great first game in the Summer League, helping the Warriors beat the Lakers handily on Friday night.
The Former Gonzaga standout made a strong first impression in his Summer League debut, helping the Golden State Warriors to a dominant 104–72 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ike had a great start to his pro career, scoring 11 points and making 5 out of 7 shots. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and had 3 assists, looking really calm and in control. This is exactly what he was known for when he played at Gonzaga – he’s great at scoring inside, has a soft touch when he’s close to the basket, and always seems to know what to do when he’s on the court.
The Warriors really took it to Los Angeles, moving the ball around and shooting from the outside like crazy. They made 16 three-pointers at an amazing 62% rate, which helped them build a big lead that the Lakers couldn’t catch up to.
Los Angeles had some notable performances, including another former Zag, Anton Watson, who played 20 minutes and scored 9 points with 3 rebounds. The two former Bulldogs now hope to turn in a strong rest of their summer in hopes of being on a G League or NBA roster come the fall.
