SPOKANE, Wash. — Thousands were without power in north Spokane near Whitworth University Wednesday morning.
According to Avista, around 5,000 customers were impacted by the outages. The outages were reported around 4:30 a.m. and restored around 6:30 a.m.
The area impacted included along Division Street near Magnesium Road to the south and to the north along Highway 395 and Dartford Drive.
Spokane County Fire District 9 responded to brush fires in the area but it’s not confirmed if those fires are related to the outages.
Avista says the outages are due to weather and equipment failure but no other details were provided.
