SPOKANE, Wash – Fire crews were stretched thin in Spokane County Tuesday, as firefighters battled multiple large wildfires.
One fire burning near the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in north Spokane sent a plume of smoke in the air that could be seen throughout the city.
It’s right near the veterans hospital off of North Assembly.
The City of Spokane posted Tuesday afternoon that the sports complex was closed due to the fire.
