CLARKSTON, Wash. — Firefighters are working this morning to increase containment on an over 600-acre fire burning near Clarkston.
According to incident management, the Snake River fire along Wawawai Road began just before 6 p.m. on Friday. The fire quickly burned north into grasses and steep, rocky terrain.
The fire threatens rangeland, powerlines, infrastructure and nearby homes.
As of the last update, the fire is estimated to be 686 acres with no containment. Incident management says containment is expected to increase quickly as incoming resources make progress securing the fire.
There are no evacuations or road closures issued for this fire.
