SAN ANTONIO, Tex. – The New York Knicks came down to Texas and shocked the San Antonio Spurs with an upset Game 1 win in the 2026 NBA Finals.
Jalen Brunson led the way with 30 points, 13 of which were scored in the fourth quarter. The Knicks held the Spurs to 2-11 shooting and four turnovers in the final seven and a half minutes.
The Knicks used an 11-0 run to close the fourth quarter, securing not only their first Finals Game 1 win since 1972, but also giving the Spurs their first Finals Game 1 loss ever (6-0 previously).
Game 2 tips off back in San Antonio on Friday, June 5, at 5:30 p.m.
