SPOKANE, Wash – High winds overnight and early Thursday morning snapped trees and knocked out power throughout the Inland Northwest.
The winds picked up Wednesday evening as a high wind warning went into effect.
The highest winds were in the early morning hours, with the National Weather Service reporting gusts of 68 miles per hour at the Spokane International Airport and 66 at Felts Field.
Stevens Pass reported a gust of 81 miles per hour.
Wind wreaked havoc in western Washington as well, knocking trees onto houses and roads.
A person was killed in Monroe when a tree fell onto their car.
