TACOMA, Wash. – The quest for back-to-back titles is no more after the No. 5-seeded Gonzaga Prep Bullpups fall 63-49 to the No. 2-seeded Richland Bombers in the Tacoma Dome.
The Bullpups have a budding rivalry with the Bombers, beating them in Spokane in the District 6 title game last season, before falling in a District championship rematch last month.
Senior Jack Pierce shined with 24 points, just shy of half of all G-Prep’s scoring. Eastern Washington commit Lance Horntvedt matched his 24 points and helped draw an astounding eight fouls.
Gonzaga Prep bids farewell to seniors Ryan Carney, Jack Pierce, Michael Monek, Jackson Mott, Vincent Moore, Carter Nilson and Dylynn Groves.
