CHENEY, Wash. — The Idaho Vandals held off a late charge to beat the Eastern Washington Eagles 85-81, snapping the Eagles win streak.
Idaho led 34-30 at halftime and maintained just enough separation down the stretch to claim the road victory. The Vandals shot 48% overall and from the three-point range, helping power it’s offense throughout the game.
Eastern Washington was efficient from the floor and made 33% of its three-pointers but couldn’t overcome Idaho’s surge. The game featured a competitive second half, the Eagles made a late run in the final minutes but the V’s four-point edge from the first half proved decisive.
With the result, Idaho finished the season 9-9 in Big Sky play, and Eastern Washington ropped to 11-7. The Big Sky tournament begins March 7.
