GIG HARBOR, Wash. — A protection order violation escalated into a deadly stabbing spree Tuesday morning that left four victims dead and the suspect fatally shot by a Pierce County Sheriff’s deputy, according to KOMO News.
The violence occurred in the 14000 block of 87th Avenue Court Northwest after a 32-year-old man came to a home despite having a no-contact order against him.
Deputies received the initial call at 8:41 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., witnesses reported the man was stabbing people outside the home. At least one victim was stabbed in the street, according to KOMO.
At 9:33 a.m., a deputy arrived and shots were fired.
“We have the adult male suspect who was shot by the deputy,” said Officer Shelbie Boyd, public information officer for the Pierce County Force Investigation Team, in an interview with KOMO News.
Three victims were found dead at the scene. A fourth victim died at the hospital. The suspect also died, KOMO reported.
Authorities have not released identities of the victims or suspect.
The Pierce County Force Investigation Team is investigating the deputy-involved shooting.
