Spokane, WASH. — There’s a new #1 in the latest AP Poll for men’s basketball. Michigan has claimed the top spot after Arizona lost to Texas Tech in an overtime thriller in Tucson on Saturday.
Gonzaga moved up one spot to #11 following the team’s road win at Santa Clara 94-86. The 25-2 Zags also knocked off Washington State last Tuesday 83-53. Gonzaga plays at USF on Wednesday at 8 p.m. and will host Pacific on Saturday.
Michigan is followed by Houston, Duke, Arizona, and UConn in the top five. Purdue (#7) made the biggest jump, moving up six spots after beating #7 Nebraska and Iowa on the road.
