SPOKANE — Bars and restaurants across Spokane are getting ready to welcome Seahawks fans for the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Seahawk pride is visible throughout the city as the team heads to the championship game.
Happy Time Bar and Grill on Division Street has become a popular spot for Seahawks fans. Owner Tom Baldwin said his bar is ready for the big game.
“The Seahawks are a great team. And rooting for them all the way,” Baldwin said.
Regular customer Marty Lund explained why fans choose Happy Time for games.
“I haven’t left this bar for football in years,” Lund said. “Because it’s the only spot to watch it. Everyone is friendly. It’s like family. We have a buffet that everyone brings in a dish and it’s like a banquet meal.”
The bar is preparing party favors, specialty drinks, and a potluck meal for Sunday.
The Bing Crosby Theater is offering free admission to watch the game on their big screen.
“The big game on our big screen. Everyone’s welcome. Bring grandma, bring the kids. Come down dressed in your favorite colors for your team. Root them on,” said Nickie White from the theater.
Other venues hosting watch parties include Brick West Brewing, The Hive, one of Spokane’s public libraries, and The Rock Bar and Grill in Spokane Valley.
“Go Hawks,” Baldwin said.
