STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — A person living in Stevens County has contracted measles, marking the eighth confirmed case in Washington.
The Northeast Tri-County Health District says the individual followed proper public health guidance, so they do not believe others have been in close contact.
The district says if you suspect you’ve been exposed, call its office at 509-684-2262.
According to state data, Stevens County has the third lowest measles vaccination rate among kindergartners (the first measurable age) at 76%. The average statewide is 90%.
