MEDICAL LAKE, Wash – A man is accused of shooting his roommate during an argument, possibly over money.
Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 70-year-old James D. Milstead Sunday.
They responded to Milstead’s home on S. Jefferson in Medical Lake around 3:25 pm and found Milstead, appearing intoxicated, and another man bleeding on the floor from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the torso.
The victim was taken to the hospital; deputies say he was stable.
Deputies say the two men got into a fight, Milstead left the room and got a gun, then came back and shot the victim.
Milstead was arrested for first degree assault, and his bond was set at $100,000.
