SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Washington State Cougars (4-19, 3-7) dropped their third game in a row with a defensive implosion against the Santa Clara Broncos (18-5, 8-2), 102-71.
Eleonora Villa led the way with 18 points and five assists, but added four turnovers to the 19 total. WSU allowed 29 points off turnovers and 16 fast break points.
The Cougs next host the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the second game in Pullman over a three-week stretch, tip-off comes at 7:00 p.m. this Saturday. WSU only has two home games from Jan. 18 to Feb. 25.
