SPOKANE, Wash. — Five Spokane teenagers were arrested for the abduction and assault of a victim that was captured on phone video.
According to the Spokane Police Department, officers were first made aware of the video on Jan. 24. The video showed a male victim being restrained in a chair and assaulted.
SPD discovered the name of the victim in the video through the investigation.
Investigators believe the assault took place on or before Jan. 22. SPD said the crime appeared to be a pre-planned event and the victim was lured to an apartment in north Spokane.
Five suspects, ranging in age from 15 to 17, were taken into custody. Three cases were referred to Spokane Superior Court while the other two remained in Juvenile Superior Court.
Charges for the five suspects range from first-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault and robbery.
