SPOKANE, Wash. — A car crashed into the side of an apartment building Wednesday night in north Spokane, displacing a family of eight, according to Spokane County Fire District 9.
Fire officials said the driver accidentally pressed the gas instead of the brake, causing the car to jump a curb and slam into the bottom unit of the apartment complex. Crews conducted a technical rescue to ensure the scene was safe.
Authorities said no injuries were reported.
The family living in the damaged unit declined Red Cross assistance because they have friends to stay with, fire officials said.
Crews plan to begin rebuilding the damaged wall Thursday.
No charges have been filed. The incident remains under investigation.
This is a developing story.
