PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars (3-15, 2-3 WCC) are back in the loss column after a 78-64 defeat to the WCC-leading Oregon State Beavers (12-5, 4-0 WCC).
The Cougs finished the game on a 9-0 run and outscored the Beavs by seven in the final quarter, but the great closing effort couldn’t overcome a huge first-half deficit.
Eleonora Villa led WSU with 16 points and five assists, shooting an impressive 7-11 from the field. The only other Coug in double-digit scoring was Charlotte Abraham with 10.
Wazzu next hosts the Santa Clara Broncos this Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
