‘There is never a good time to say goodbye.’ Jimmy Rogers releases statement following his departure from WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — WSU head coach Jimmy Rogers released a statement following the announcement that he took a head coaching job at Iowa State.

Iowa State says Rogers has signed a six-year contract with the Cyclones.

Rogers posted the following statement on X about his departure on Saturday morning:

Washington State,Ever since I first arrived here in Pullman, my focus has always been on the players in this program and the relationships that we form. Thank you to them for their belief and trust. This was never my intention.This opportunity has always been a dream of mine and one that allows my family to return closer to home. In this profession, there is never a good time to say goodbye, but I am proud of what we accomplished with so many new players.To those who stayed and to those who brought in, the work, the heart, and passion we carried every day is something I will forever cherish. Thank you.
