SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s basketball squad eked out a 62-58 win over the Grand Canyon Antelopes.
Freshman Lauren Whittaker continues her excellent first season, pacing the Zags with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Gonzaga made only one three-pointer and turned the ball over 22 times, but they held steady late with a clutch Allie Turner bucket inside one minute to go.
GU’s defense forced back-to-back possessions with a block to shut out the Lopes in the final possessions.
The Zags continue their week homestand, hosting the UC Davis Aggies this Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
