PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars (6-6) crushed the Oregon State Beavers (2-10) to clinch bowl eligibility.
Quarterback Zevi Eckhaus threw for 197 yards and a touchdown, plus 63 rushing yards and another score on the ground.
Tony Freeman led all receivers in targets, catches, yards, and returned 169 yards off punts, setting the program game record for most punt return yards.
WSU’s defense only allowed one red zone trip, and held OSU to 3/14 on third-down trips. The Cougs caught two interceptions and forced two fumbles, recovering one.
With Wazzu bowl-eligible, they’ll await their postseason bid after next week’s conference title games.
