SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A woman struck and killed in a Spokane Valley crosswalk on Nov. 14 has been identified as 35-year-old Ashley Lane, according to the Spokane County Medical Examiner.
Deputies say 29-year-old Seth E. Schrammeck was driving south on North Sullivan Road and hit Lane as she attempted to cross the intersection at East Broadway Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts.
Schrammeck, who had his two children in the vehicle at the time, is accused of striking and killing Lane and now faces charges of vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment. The children were not injured, investigators said.
Prosecutors said Schrammeck provided a non-evidentiary portable breath test sample that registered 0.03. A blood draw was taken for analysis, but results are pending.
He was granted a $25,000 bond over the weekend, which remained unchanged during his initial court appearance.
Investigators continue to seek witnesses and video evidence.
Anyone with information or dash camera footage is asked to contact Cpl. T. Miller at 509-477-3195 and reference case 10162584.
Businesses in the area are also asked to review surveillance footage for potential evidence.
The investigation remains active.
