Weβll slowly warm a good bit above freezing today, which should clear up roads for a busy afternoon and evening of travel before Thanksgiving.
Plan your Wednesday
Slushy snow on cars and grassy areas will melt as we go through the morning. Conditions will be dry and cloudy with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s this afternoon. The gradual warming will take away the threat of slick road conditions for the time being.
What Weβre Tracking
The weather system from last night is exiting the area, leading to drier conditions today. However, an incoming warm front brings another round of precipitation starting Wednesday evening and lasting through Thanksgiving. This next system will bring a rain and snow mix to the valleys in the northern mountains, with additional snow accumulation expected in the mountain passes tonight. In the Spokane area and points south, it will be a rainy Thanksgiving day, while any snow turns to rain in our northern valleys.
By the weekend, a drier and colder push of air arrives, bringing lows in the 20s and highs struggling to get to the mid-30s. Wintry precipitation is possible early next week in the form of scattered snow showers.
