SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Public Schools need gift card donations to support 1,172 students who lack stable housing before winter break.
The district’s HEART program serves those students, including 260 unaccompanied youth who are not staying with legal guardians. Many live in shelters, cars, or temporarily with friends and cannot access other charitable programs.
Spokane Public Schools have collected gift cards for more than 10 years. Grocery and box store cards are most requested for clothes, food, and gifts.
Donations must arrive by Dec. 8th for the winter break distribution. Late donations will be distributed throughout the school year.
How to donate:
• Drop off at SPS Administration building (200 N. Bernard St.)
• Bring to any SPS school office
• Donate online at spokaneschools.org/intouch (select “HEART Program Donations”)
