TROY, Mont. — A Montana police officer accused of tampering with evidence related to juvenile girls has turned himself in.
According to the City of Troy, 23-year-old Layton Artigo turned himself in to law enforcement in Southern California on Friday afternoon.
Agencies, including the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation, are currently working to extricate Artigo back to Lincoln County.
Artigo was an officer with the Troy Police Department. He is accused of tampering or fabricating evidence.
The investigation is ongoing.
