POST FALLS, Idaho — Post Falls Police say a homeless man got ahold of an excavator early Tuesday morning and used it to destroy a brand new house.
Police were called around 5:38 this morning by multiple people in the neighborhood near the intersection of W. Alsea Avenue and W. Platte Court. It was completed and recently sold, but was not yet occupied.
Post Falls Police Department Officers say they arrived and found the suspect driving away from the scene in a vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop Fred Kudrna, 29, was arrested for DUI, burglary, and malicious injury to property.
Post Falls Detectives will continue to work with the builder of the home and witnesses to the crime. They say Kudrna lives a transient lifestyle and works in construction, but there is no known motive currently.
