DAVIDSON, N.C. – Another slow start doomed the Washington State Cougars (0-2) tonight, falling 85-69 to the Davidson Wildcats (2-0).
Washington State (Klay Thompson) and Davidson (Stephen Curry) are the alma maters of each half of the famous Golden State Warriors “splash brothers”, two of the most prolific three-point shooters in NBA history.
Ironically, the Cougs dropped another game behind poor three-point shooting, tonight only hitting six of 21 attempts.
Emmanuel Ugbo again led WSU in scoring, tonight with 16 points. He helped Wazzu claw back from down 14-2 early, but couldn’t get a lead at any point throughout the game.
Washington State next returns home to host the St. Thomas Tommies on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
