KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. — A high-speed crash on Highway 821 Saturday night killed one woman and injured an infant after the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled multiple times, according to Washington State Patrol.
Courtney A. Bedell, 33, of Yakima, died at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle. A 3-month-old girl was also ejected and transported to Kittitas Valley Healthcare with injuries.
WSP said the crash occurred at 11:20 p.m. near the Yakima/Kittitas County line.
Driver Chance M. Piccin, 30, of Olympia, was traveling northbound at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle.
Piccin was not injured and faces charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
Authorities confirmed drugs or alcohol were involved.
The infant was not wearing a seatbelt.
WSP is investigating the crash.
