SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — The sheriff of Shoshone County resigned from her position on Wednesday, following a traffic incident she was involved in the day before, according to Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 22, SCSO announced Sheriff Holly Lindsay formally resigned from her position, after having been involved in a “traffic accident” in her personal vehicle on October 21.
SCSO said the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the traffic incident.
SCSO published Lindsay’s resignation, which reads, in part:
“I have loved this community with everything that I have, but it is with a heavy heart that I must resign from the position of the Shoshone County Sheriff. I appreciate the community and fellow first responders that have supported me throughout my career,” she said.
Lindsay served with Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office for 21 years.
Undersheriff Lance Stutzke will takeover as interim Sheriff until the Board of County Commissioners appoints a new sheriff.
SCSO said details from the KCSO investigation have not yet been released.
This is a developing story.
