SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his vehicle rolled over in a residential yard early Saturday morning, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Oct. 18, a caller reported finding a vehicle flipped upside down in her neighbor’s yard near the intersection of W. Cascade Way and W. Rainier Way, officials said.
Deputies found Eric R. Gallagher sitting near his overturned black Volkswagen Rabbit. When asked what happened, he responded with something similar to “I’m drunk, you can arrest me man,” according to the sheriff’s office.
A breath test showed Gallagher’s blood alcohol content was between .178 and .180 — more than twice Washington’s legal limit of .08, officials said.
Gallagher was medically cleared at a hospital before being booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Spokane County District Court Judge A. Biviano ordered him released on his own recognizance the same day at 6:30 p.m., according to court records.
