BONNER COUNTY, Idaho — Construction on the third phase of a large habitat restoration project in Lake Pend Oreille is set to begin soon.
According to Idaho Fish and Game, this construction will continue work to improve fish and wildlife habitat just east of Mud Lake.
This new phase, expected to begin in late October or early November, will build on past restoration work at the Pack River and Clark Fork deltas.
Crews will create three new islands above the summer lake level, which IDFG says will also open new opportunities for anglers, trappers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
While work is being done, IDFG says drivers can expect to see signs along Sunnyside Road from Highway 200, but no road closures are expected.
