SPOKANE, Wash. — If you’re a classic cartoon fan and looking for a family-friendly, fun way to celebrate the season, check out Spokane Public Library’s upcoming ‘Peanuts’-themed event!
On October 18, SPL will host ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Festival, Spokane!’ event in honor of 75th anniversary of the beloved Peanuts comics.
The event will celebrate all things Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Woodstock and the whole Peanuts gang!
“Many generations have enjoyed the Peanuts characters, and fall is the perfect time to celebrate their 75th anniversary,” said Denise Neujahr, youth services manager at Spokane Public Library. “Escape the cold and rain this weekend to celebrate the beloved characters from the Charles M. Schulz comics with your family and friends!”
Attendees will enjoy decorating their own trick-or-treat bags and wooden pumpkins, making DIY red baron planes to fly like Snoopy and many other fall-themed activities.
Science Speaks Spokane will also run a special leaf chromatography lesson.
The event runs from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Spokane Central Library (906 W. Main Avenue). The event is free and open to the public.
