POST FALLS, Idaho — The City of Post Falls is gearing up to treat the city’s water supply to ensure all residents have access to safe and reliable cleaning water.
According to the City of Post Falls, the Water Division will conduct routine fall chlorination of the city’s water distribution system to protect the city’s water.
The chlorination will begin sometime after October 6 with the goal of maintaining chlorine residuals above .25ppm for 30 days.
The City said the timing of the chlorination is dependent upon the city’s pumping demands, which often decrease once fall weather moves in and sprinklers are shut off.
While the chlorination is safe, the City said it is important to check with your doctor if you have any concerns.
“While the City of Post Falls chlorination program meets all regulatory and testing requirements, we understand individuals have different sensitivities to chemicals and changes to the environment. The City recommends individuals consult their physician to discuss specific health concerns related to chlorine in the drinking water,” said the city in a press release.
Any Post Falls residents who would like to be notified of chlorination updates can email their name, address and email address to waterdivision@postfalls.gov.
